Who are we?

Catalyst Youth Trust is a Shropshire-based organisation dedicated to empowering Christian youth initiatives and school outreach. While our primary focus is on Bridgnorth and Telford, we actively seek opportunities to support churches across the region, helping them create a meaningful impact on young people and schools.

We specialise in creating innovative resources that inspire and equip youth workers, enabling young people to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do—we are passionate about building partnerships to enhance the effectiveness of youth and school work in our communities.

Our Story

Catalyst Youth Trust was born out of a passion for local youth ministry in Shropshire. In 2011, John Prockter became the manager of the Bridgnorth Youth and Schools Project (BYSP). Within months, he began connecting with youth workers across the Shropshire region. Over the following years, BYSP firmly established itself in the community, laying the foundation for a ministry that placed high value on regional relationships.

In 2017, Catalyst Youth Trust was officially launched, with John as its director. The following year, we partnered with Telford Christians Together to plant Engage Schools in Telford. Since then, Catalyst Youth Trust has grown into a leading regional organisation, committed to fostering Meaningful Relationships, building Strategic Connections across communities and organisations, and providing High-Quality Resources.

In 2021, John published his first book, Stuck in the Mud, a discipleship resource for the wider church. This was followed in 2023 by Hikaru: Name Above All Names, a brand-new evangelistic novel. By 2024, Hikaru had quickly become a valuable resource, propelling Catalyst Youth Trust into the wider youth ministry world and expanding the reach of our mission.

Working together

While Catalyst Youth Trust may develop its own staff teams in the future, our primary mission is to build collaborative teams driven by a shared vision and unity with churches and organisations. Currently, our teams are focused on Christian mentoring, the Stir Gathering (a regional event), and providing speakers for Religious Education (RE) departments.
