Welcome to Bridgnorth Youth & Schools Project
We’re passionate about journeying with young people through every stage of their school life – helping them grow in confidence, build resilience, explore faith, and develop as young leaders.
Launched in 2011, BYSP works closely with local school leaders, church leaders, and community leaders to provide meaningful opportunities for young people to thrive – both in and outside the classroom.
We support young people as they grow in confidence, resilience, leadership, and personal faith in Jesus. Our work includes lunch-time clubs, one-to-one mentoring, and Stir discipleship groups, as well as trips to youth events and camps. We also run popular Moving Up workshops for Year 6 pupils and partner with local churches to host annual Anchored events for younger children.
Schools
This is the home of our schools work — from mentoring and lunch clubs to RE support and creative workshops.
Stir
This is where you’ll find our Stir groups — youth communities for young people exploring faith in Jesus together.
Anchored
This is where Anchored lives — fun-filled events that spark spiritual curiosity about Jesus in children.
Year 14 Report
Bridgnorth Youth & Schools Project is now at the end of its 14th year, and I remain deeply encouraged by the work we’re doing. Naturally, there are ebbs and flows in what we’re able to offer and what schools are looking for, but I believe we continue to be a responsive project, making a steady and meaningful long-term impact in the community.
At present, our work falls into five main areas:
Secondary Christian Education
Primary School Ministry
Anchored
Mentoring
Stir
In this report you’ll find updates on each of these areas, including new ministry opportunities in both primary and secondary schools.
The most significant development this year has been within the Stir ministry. We’ve moved locations, increased how often we meet, and welcomed a whole new group of people into serving. Alongside this, we also launched an after-school Stir group which ran from Easter until the end of term. This gave us a valuable opportunity to share the gospel with a completely new group of young people.
Finally, you’ll notice several encouraging stories, ranging from a young person who first came to Stir after walking into Cartway Church one day, to others who have found success and new confidence through our mentoring programme.
By all accounts, it has been a very good year.
John
“We believe spiritual development is all about reflecting on and valuing experiences of awe and wonder, joy and sorrow, relationships with others, the natural world, and the big beyond.”
